Dear Parents,
We wanted to make you aware that a case of head lice was confirmed today in our 7–10 year-old classroom. While this is certainly never pleasant news, please know that we are taking it seriously and following all proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures to ensure our classrooms remain a safe and healthy environment for every child.
Head lice do not fly or jump—they are spread through direct head-to-head contact or by sharing items like hats, brushes, or pillows. We encourage you to check your child’s hair, especially around the scalp, behind the ears, and at the nape of the neck. Look for tiny white eggs (nits) attached to the hair shaft close to the scalp.
If you notice anything of concern, please contact your doctor for treatment guidance and let our Crossing Kids team know so we can continue to monitor and respond appropriately.
We know things like this can happen anywhere children gather, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work together to care for all of our families.
With care,
The Crossing Kids Team
Green Valley Crossing
